Sway was put together for a party thrown by the Labour party at the Millenium Hotel. They wanted a young sophisticated band that could cover all aspects of a high class evening's entertainment.

Starting with an acoustic set (based around a grand piano) of laid- back songs from the past and present the evening ended with the whole room dancing to a full live band playing everything from 70s disco to the latest chart tunes.

Since then Sway has travelled the world, playing at events from Las Vegas to Shanghai. In Lagos in Nigeria , as a six piece, they started the night off gently but had the dance floor packed by the end of the night. In Grenada in the West Indies , as a nine piece (with a three piece brass section) they brought the house down as the sun came down. In Boston , USA , they played three very different sets as a ten piece band (with percussion).
